AN ORCHARD AFTERNOON  

Sunday 19th September

at the Village Hall in Tewin

near Welwyn Garden City

Join us @ 1.00pm

Tewin Orchard - near Welwyn Garden City East of England Landscape Institute visit

 

Speakers from Natural England, Hertfordshire County Council, and Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust -

will talk about the past, present and future of the regions orchards; celebrate the biodiversity of a unique habitat; and discuss local initiatives to preserve and protect orchards from development pressures and planning neglect.....and also we'll just have a great time in a very English setting.

Please bring a packed lunch [and more besides if you want] for 1.00pm; tea / coffee provided.

After lunch we will hear the speakers and then have a

guided tour of the Tewin Orchard -

a fantastic Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust reserve set in 4 hectares of fields and woodland - excellent for birds and butterflies too. There is parking at the Village Hall - 11, Lower Green Tewin Welwyn AL6 0JX   The village is best approached from junction 6 of the A1[M].

Volunteers 2 - Landscape Institute East of England

 

 

EEBLI is looking for volunteers

to join or help out on the committee. 

 

If you have ideas for future events, would like to help organise visits or seminars and provide feedback to the LI, we would love to hear from you.
